Featherlite awards trailer to St. Bonaventure
student organization dedicated to helping others

The New York university’s Bona Responds wins Featherlite Trailer giveaway contest 

Cresco, IA—Featherlite Trailers, America’s oldest aluminum specialty trailer manufacturer and the top aluminum horse and livestock trailer brand, announces its gift of two trailers to two deserving recipients. Vic Vena of Misty Meadows Farm nominated a St. Bonaventure University group of students, Bona Responds, for Featherlite’s Win 1 Give 1 giveaway last fall. Both Vena and Bona Responds will receive a free Featherlite Trailer from Davis Trailer World, a local dealership owned by Dean and Susan Davis.

“Bona Responds from St. Bonaventure University spend their semester breaks helping people recover from hurricanes, floods and snowstorms,” Vena explains in his winning essay. The students have helped across the nation, including in Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas and western New York. During one trip to the gulf, over 10 percent of the student body sacrificed their spring break to serve the residents. Vena continued, “They could really, really, really use a trailer. Poor in resources; rich in spirit.”

Dr. Jim Mahar, Bona Responds’ group leader, says, “A giant thank you from not only Bona Responds, but also from the thousands of people who will be helped over the coming years through the use of this trailer. It is exactly what we needed.”

Transportation is one of the group’s biggest challenges. “This new trailer will not only help transport the tools needed to change the lives of the individuals and families we touch,” says Bona Responds volunteer Robert Ryer, “but also help transport the lives of those we touch, into the next chapter of life, a better chapter.”

Bona Responds will be celebrating its second annual International Service Day on Saturday, March 26. “Too often we look at the world’s problems as insurmountable. But if everyone does a little, a lot can be done,” explains Mahar. The Featherlite trailer will help make his vision a reality.

Davis Trailer World will be handing over the trailers to Bona Responds and Vic Vena at St. Bonaventure University on Wednesday March 30^th, at 11:00 a.m.
